Forest School Club Social @ Pulau Ubin

Join Us for a Family Forest Adventure at Pulau Ubin!

This is an invitation to all families who have at least one enrolled child in Forest School! Please do RSVP so we can plan accordingly and also let us know if your RSVP changes.

Social highlights:

• Litter Picking: Make a positive impact by helping to keep our island beautiful. Litter is often an issue on Pulau Ubin, especially around the Jelutong campsite and coastal area. It's best to wear closed shoes like trainers or walking shoes. We will provide trash bags and tongs.

• Campfire Magic: We'll gather our forest school kids together to put into practice what we learn in our weekly sessions. They will take the lead getting the fire going for the group! Fire strikers will be provided but please bring your own if you have them as well as egg cartons which are great for getting fires stated.

• BYO Campfire Cooking: Easy peasy marshmallows will be provided. Bring anything else you may like to cook on the fire but please come prepared with your own cooking equipment. Sticks for marshmallows and hot dogs can be found in nature!

Date: 16 February 2025

Time: 09.00am - around 12pm/1pm. The fire will be extinguished when everyone has done cooking. There is a Seafood Restaurant nearby for a full lunch option.

Location: Pulau Ubin

Programme (timings are approximate)

09.00am - Meet at Changi Ferry Terminal and boat ride to Ubin (always fun!) Bring $4 cash per person.

09.15am - Arrival & Briefing - handing out of tongs and trash bags

09.25am - Litter clean-up on walk to Jelutong and around the campsite / coastal area

10.30am - Campfire lighting with the Forest School kids

11.15am - Campfire cooking

12.00pm - Free & Easy, explore Pulau Ubin, go for llunchat the Seafood Restaurant or return to main island

What to Bring

• $4 cash per person, per way, for the boat ride

• Plenty of drinking water (drinks are available to buy on the island)

• Fire strikers and egg cartons (optional)

• Something to cook on the fire, other snacks and drinks

• Outdoor games (ball, frisbee, etc)

• Waterproofs and umbrella just in case

• Full charged mobile

• Hand sanitiser

• Mosquito spray

• Towel and change of clothes for children just in case

What to Wear

• Usual outdoor active wear for a Forest School session

• Sunscreen

• Hat

• Closed shoes - essential for coastal clean-up and camp fire

Please Note:

• Jelutong Campsite as very basic facilities (toilet and sink and a shelter and thats about it!)

• Boats take 12 passengers each and leave when full and run continuously throughout the day

• Arrive early for parking if driving your own vehicle as the car park at the ferry terminal fills up on busy weekends
